What we often see lacking when brands claim to be more sustainable is solid proof. Claiming to be a “sustainable” brand and actually being one are two different things. But, is MATE the Label fast fashion? We’re glad the answer is no—it is truly a sustainable brand because it holds rigorous third-party certifications that measure both its environmental and social impact. MATE the Label is Climate Neutral, GOTS-certified, and a certified B Corp.

Hottest MATE the Label Products
$158
Color: Heather Gray
Size: Small
Key Features: Soft fleece, great color, perfect fit, durable after washes.
Personal Reaction: Author is obsessed, plans to wear it year-round.
“Obsessed” is an understatement for how we feel about this sweatshirt, a lot like the MATE the Label review amazon. Half-zip sweaters seem to be the new trend in the market, and there’s nothing not to love about this one! MATE the Label’s half-zip sweater features a soft interior fleece—reminiscent of those cozy hoodies from our teenage years. The difference here? The softness won’t fade after washing! That’s because this sweatshirt is made using GOTS-certified organic cotton, which stays soft and cozy even after multiple washes.
As for the color and fit, both are perfect. The sweatshirt, like most MATE the Label review t shirts, comes in different essential colors and also a limited edition of colors is offered. These neutral tones can be mixed and matched with most of your jeans and trousers for a chic and put together look whether it’s a sunday picnic or a family dinner. Needless to say that this is going to be your fall or winter staple for warmth and comfort!
$138
Color: Heather Gray
Size: Small
Key Features: Flattering cut, soft material, internal drawstring, good for petites.
Personal Reaction: Flattering and functional, ideal fit.
After the pandemic relaxed fit is the new norm and these pants fit the category perfectly! These wide leg pants feel nothing like your traditional joggers or cuffed styles with elastic at the bottom. They are again made using the same soft and buttery material as the pullover therefore offering the same cozy feel. Crafted from GOTS-certified organic fabric, these sweatpants are thick enough for proper insulation but without feeling too heavy, and the cut is incredibly flattering.
With an hourglass figure (larger bust and hips and a smaller waist), it can sometimes be tricky to trust online photos, but we’re thrilled to report and as are the people who have tried it, that these sweats look and feel amazing, even if you have curves to fill them out. They’re also a perfect fit for petites, hitting right at the ankle without dragging on the floor. And the internal drawstring? Perfection!
$68
Color: Jet Black
Size: Small
Key Features: Made from 92% organic cotton, breathable, good coverage.
Personal Reaction: Supportive, non-suffocating, but sizing up may be necessary.
Who isn’t a big fan of a good pair of bike shorts?! Bike shorts often have a suffocating feel and are made using synthetic fabric which exacerbates the situation of discomfort. But that is not the case with MATE the Label sustainability, as their bike shorts are made using 92% cotton and only 8% spandex, which is significantly lower than what is used in most active wear. These shorts are soft, provide adequate support and are stretchy hugging you in all the right places.
Also these shorts are high on converge meaning no see through. But one thing to keep in mind while buying your Mate the Label biker shorts is to size up if you want a good stretch (since the shorts are made using cotton). Also these shorts do not leach out any harmful chemicals like BPA, PFAS or formaldehyde as they are free from it and made using organic material. MATE the Label has strict restrictions across its entire supply chain to ensure the safety of people and plants without compromising on style and quality.
$38
Color: Espresso
Size: Medium
Key Features: Comfortable but not supportive for larger busts.
Personal Reaction: Not recommended for larger busts; prefers sports bra.
Just like all the other products there’s nothing to not love about the organic comfort scoop bralette by MATE the Label. But for those with a larger bust (34 C) the scoop bralette falls a little short not giving enough coverage or support we have hoped for. You can size up but sizing up might leave the fabric and straps feeling too loose, which is something you should consider. And although there’s a great MATE the Label return policy, you won’t be needing to send this back!
That said, it’s needless to mention that it’s incredibly comfortable and the three color options provided works well for most of the outfits. Overall, if you have a larger chest, we’d recommend skipping this one and opting for the sports bra instead—it’s a true staple!
$48
Color: Birch
Size: Small
Key Features: Soft, GOTS-certified, made in Los Angeles.
Personal Reaction: Loves material and cut but dislikes the color.
A good quality tee is a wardrobe essential and you cannot go wrong with MATE the Label because of the supreme quality and a neutral palette of color selection that combine simplicity and sustainability. Made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, this tee will feel ultra-soft against your skin while being free of harmful chemicals and toxic dyes.
Its relaxed fit and timeless crewneck design make it incredibly versatile—perfect for layering or wearing on its own. Whether you’re lounging at home or out to run an errand, this classic tee offers both chic comfort and durability. Plus, knowing it’s made ethically in Los Angeles with eco-friendly practices makes it a choice you can feel good about, inside and out.
$48
Color: Natural Sage Sedona
Key Features: Durable, thick, cozy cotton.
Personal Reaction: High price but worth it for durability and comfort.
We know what you’re thinking: “$48 for three pairs of socks? Really?” But hear us out.
These socks are the unsung heroes of this review, and here’s why: socks tend to wear out quickly, especially when you’re constantly on your feet. If you’re someone who suffers from cold feet despite the weather outside then these would quickly become your daily necessity. Plus, many users on MATE the Label reddit threads would agree!
These socks will keep you warm and snug. Also unlike most of the socks available in the market these are really thick meaning they won’t wear out within just a few weeks. So it is worth it to spend the big bucks on these socks, you’re in for a treat and not disappointment!
Price vs. Quality: Is it Worth it?
Is MATE the Label worth it? Well, one of the most common questions shoppers face is whether the price of clothing truly reflects its value, and MATE the Label is no exception. With items like sweatpants priced at $128, it’s easy to see why some you might hesitate, especially in today’s economy, where budgets are tighter than ever.
However, the higher price point comes with a strong justification. When you purchase from MATE the Label, you’re not just paying for a pair of sweatpants—you’re investing in a product that prioritizes the well-being of every person who has contributed in making those sweatpants and also the planet’s well-being.
MATE the Label uses organic fabrics that are free of harmful chemicals making sure you’re not exposed to anything toxic offering health benefits by being gentler on the skin. Additionally, their commitment to sustainability—through eco-conscious production practices, reduced carbon footprints, and ethically sourced materials—means that your purchase supports a healthier environment. These are investments in long-term quality, both for your wardrobe and for our planet.
These days most of the customers, including myself, like to know the cost per wear before they decide to spend and buy something to be aware of the impact of the clothing on their budget and also on the planet in the long run. MATE the Label also gives you a ‘Cost Per Wear’ for every product, and for the sweatpants it’s:
- 5 Wears: $25.60
- 10 Wears: $12.80
- 25 Wears: $5.12
- 50 Wears: $2.56
Ultimately, it’s not just about what you’re paying (which is also with it in the long run)—it’s about the lasting value you’re receiving and making through your purchase. Still wondering “MATE the Label worth it?” You bet!
